Design

Looks

The front aspect, broad and generous in the Peugeot style, expresses the Expert's modernity and dynamism with its plunging front windscreen and very stylish lights. Bumpers forming an integral part of the body and side protections evoke robustness and safety.

Headlamps

Generously sized, the headlamp units have very feline styling and the barrel treatment of the various lights carries over the aesthetic codes of Peugeot's latest models. Even the reduction of running costs has been taken into consideration with the design of the headlamps. They are equipped with special brackets which 'snap off' in a collision at less than 16mk/h, protecting the headlamp and avoiding the need for a full replacement.

Rear end

At the rear, the Expert's square profile and 180 degree opening hinged rear doors are immediately recognisable by the professional as a sign of easy loading.

Profile

The Expert comes with twin sliding doors as standard to facilitate easy access to the cargo area. The rear sides are panelled to accommodate advertising and your company name.

Driving comfort

A light commercial vehicle used on a daily basis must be ergonomic, practical and comfortable. To make working with the Expert as enjoyable for you as possible, Peugeot designed its interior to be functional and innovative.

Driving the Expert has a very natural feel to it, with intuative controls enabling you to find your way around the Expert's controls very quickly. The dashboard mounted gear lever comes naturally to hand, and the steering wheel is height and reach adjustable.

To make your 'office' more pleasant, air conditioning comes standard.

Driving aids

Not all the new technology is under the bonnet: the Expert offers you valuable driving aids as standard, items you would normally expect to pay more for such as cruise control, rear parking assistance and electrically operated door mirrors.

A cruise control + speed limiter comes standard. This is operated very simply using the controls under the steering wheel, making it possible either to set the desired cruising speed or to limit your speed around town to a pre-programmed level.

The Expert also comes standard with rear parking assistance. Ultrasonic sensors warn you of the presence of an obstacle near the rear of the vehicle, when the reverse gear is engaged.

The electrically operated door mirrors have dual glass to facilitate parking manoeurves and provide better coverage of blind spots.

For enhanced driveability, the Expert is equipped with speed sensitive power steering.

Pneumatic suspension

Pneumatic rear suspension is a standard feature on the Expert Professional. It is an innovative solution that restricts the overall height to less than 1.9m and it ensures a constant ride height under all load conditions for a smooth and comfortable drive.

Multimedia equipment

Passengers in the Expert will be able to fully appreciate the multimedia equipment available on option, starting with the 2 speaker, 2 tweeter CD radio with MP3 compatibility.

This audio system is supplemented by the Bluetooth™ hands-free kit, a standard feature on your Expert. This provides a link between your Bluetooth mobile phone and the radio, enabling you to take your calls while remaining firmly focussed on the road ahead.

Storage areas

The Expert is full of ingenious storage ideas. An overhead storage unit can accommodate documents or other indispensible small objects. The glove box is lockable, illuminated and air conditioned. Other storage spaces can be found on top of the fascia panel, in the front doors and under the passenger seat.

Cargo space

Ease of use in the loading area was a priority in the design of the Expert, which is why the loading area is 'cube-shaped'. The side walls incorporate protective trim under the bodyline for minor impacts, allowing the appearance of the exterior bodywork to be kept intact. The lighting is well designed and there is a handy 12v socket in the cargo area.

Cargo security

nce you've loaded your Expert, you want peace of mind that your cargo is stored securely. On the floor, 8 tie down hooks are fitted to stop loads moving around.

However as loads occasionally move around during transit, a protective ladder is situated behind the seat as standard to protect the driver in addition to a lower barrier protector. For added cabin protection, a full steel bulkhead is available as an option.

Cargo volume/payload

Setting the Expert apart, both the standard wheelbase (L1) and long wheelbase (L2) versions boast the same large payload of 1188kg as standard, giving you added flexibility for your loads.

The useful volume is impressive too, with 5.0m3 available in the standard wheelbase (L1) version, which increases to 6.0m3 in the long wheelbase (L2) version.

Side doors

Guided by two support rails and a rail in the upper section, the sliding side door is panelled. Particular attention has been paid to the design of the handles to facilitate operation of the door.

A second sliding door on the driver's side, as standard, allows easier access to goods.

Rear doors

Two glazed, hinged rear doors are standard on the Expert, and open to 180° making it simple to access the generous cargo area - even with a forklift.

Cargo space dimensions

For the standard wheelbase version (L1), the load length is 2.254m. On the long wheelbase version (L2), the load length is increased to 2.584m.

The maximum useful width is 1.602 m with a width between the wheel arches of 1.25 m, allowing loading of a standard pallet.

Maximum load height is 1.449m.

3 person bench seat

The very comfortable front passenger seat, as standard on the Expert, lets you carry 2 front passengers with ease.

Engine range

Both of the Expert's HDi turbo diesel engines are designed to facilitate your journeys and improve your efficiency. They work towards the same objective: a concern for economy and the environment. One of them is sure to meet the requirements of your business perfectly.

2.0 HDi 88kW

The 88kW diesel engine features a variable geometry turbo. Its characteristics make it the ideal engine for both small trips around town and longer journeys on the open road.

2.0 HDi FAP 100kW

This engine, exclusive to the Expert Professional, develops exceptional torque of 320Nm ideal for pulling heavy loads. It is also fitted with Peugeot's world first FAP particle filter technology, which reduces diesel emissions to barely measurable levels whilst preserving power and performance.

Both engines are mated to an advanced new 6 speed manual gearbox with smooth, precise gear changes.

The Expert is a van for today's business user, offering a comprehensive range of moden equipment designed to improve the safety of both driver and passengers.

Handling

When a vehicle is a working tool, you need to rely on it in all situations. Thanks to the quality of its wheels and suspension, the Expert's stability is a benchmark.

The Expert has long and dense wheel travel stops. Continuously adjusting their rigidity and load flexibility, these stops ensure stable vehicle handling and an excellent level of comfort even when driving with no load. The dampers have been designed to ensure excellent body stability and enviable suspension comfort.

Airbags

The Expert is equipped with a driver's airbag, helping to protect in the event of a frontal collision. A passenger airbag is available as an option.

ABS + EBA

With two ventilated front discs and two rear discs, the Expert offers high performance braking under all road conditions. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you to control the vehicle during emergency braking by preventing the wheels from locking.

Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) controls braking wheel by wheel to maximise stopping performance, particularly when cornering.

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps reduce stopping distances to a minimum by amplifying the pressure applied to the brake pedal.

Electronic Stability Program

Available as an option, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) anticipates potential under or over steer and helps you to maintain control of the van's steering. As part of the ESP option, traction control (ASR) prevents wheel slip in the event of loss of grip.

Safety cell

The Expert has been designed to protect driver and passengers in the event of a collision. The integrity of the passenger compartment is assured by impact absorbtion structures or crumple zones designed to absorb impact energy, whether the impact is from the front, rear or side.

The passenger safety cell is safeguarded in the event of a rollover thanks to the vehicle's exceptional body strength.

Theft protection

People who drive vans often keep valuable tools, equipment or goods in them. The Expert has been designed to offer peace of mind with high levels of vehicle protection and security.

All Experts come with an audible anti-theft alarm and deadlocking as standard, protecting your van and your load

A three button remote control key allows you to lock or unlock the vehicle, or the load space only. Once the vehicle exceeds 10 km/h all the door locks are activated automatically.

If you wish to leave the cab unlocked while the cargo area remains securely locked, you can do this by using the button located on the fascia panel. The status indicator on this button also tells you whether the load space is open or locked.
